MOT Testing

We offer a while-you-wait MOT service at our Cheshunt garage workshop located in the New River Trading Estate next to Brookfield Farm. You are free to stay and view the MOT test if you wish, or else take advantage of the local shops and restaurant at the adjoining Brookfield Farm retail complex. We'll let you know by phone or SMS text message when the test is complete.

We are one of very few local garages who are able to offer an online MOT booking service to our customers. Simply choose your preferred date from our calendar and press book online.

Brookfield Motors currently offer MOT testing services for class 4 vehicles. This covers most cars (with up to 8 passenger seats), including;

• motor caravans
• dual purpose vehicles
• public service vehicles (with up to 8 seats)
• ambulances and taxis

The annual MOT road safety and environmental inspection is a legal requirement for all motor vehicles that use UK roads. If you have a vehicle that is more than three years old, you need to have an MOT test carried out. A valid MOT certificate is a requirement when you tax your vehicle.

MOT test fees are fixed by the Department of Transport and are published on the Directgov web site. We are able to offer a discount on the MOT fee however when booked at the same time as a service. Call for details.

The MOT test itself comprises of a detailed checklist of safety, legal and environmental checks to ensure that (as far as can be reasonably determined without dismantling) your vehicle is safe to drive on the public road, free from defects which might affect chemical or other emissions and compliant with all relevant legislation.

Brookfield Motor Company are an approved MOT garage, endorsed by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). We are bound by regulations concerning safety, training, standards of facilities and equipment as part of this endorsement.
